New guy with new Buffal Classic:
« on: December 19, 2006, 09:51:53 AM »
Hi ...I would first like to thank all on this forum for all the great info that helped me decide on the Buffalo Classic.

It finally arrived yesterday ...And I have come to realize that my eyes arn't what they used to be.

Have any of you fitted a Malcolm Scope to your Buffalo Classic ...If so, how did you go about mounting it?

Afraid I have never seen a Malcolm Scope, but I just finished a BC project today amd mounted a Leupold  Veri-X-III 1.5x5. It worked very well with a Weaver base and medium Z-rings. Which rings will work for you will depend on the size of your scope profile for barrel and hammer clearance.

Congrats on the new BC and welcome aboard!! A Leatherwood Malcolm would require custom mounting as well of the very expensive scope, so it would be very cost prohibitive to most here, see the link below. A less expensive alternative would be the Dixie brass scopes.

I too  have scoped a BC, but just as Wally did, used a regular scope and H&R base.

Wow! Now I know what a Malcolm Scope is. Definitely unique mounting needs. Let us know how it works out.
