Hi All,This is somwhat off topic, but I know some of you have bought Nosler 2nds from shootersproshop.com I just received my 3rd order from them, bought a life time supply of 30cal 150gr partitons and accubonds.Just in time as a few days after ordering prices went up.The accubonds went from $13.75 to $15.95,and partitions from $13.25 to $13.75.Still not bad compaired to jumps I've seen at cabela's and gun shops.Guess I timed it right for once!
And just looking through all the 2nds they have, they are out of stock on a good many, bet you guys have been buying them up too!How bout it,anyone else stocking up on them? Not you Quick,I know you have! ;D

I've gotten a few of them...They are a pretty good buy considering what the unblemished ones cost...

on some 150 gr PT's i bought from them in .270 Win' their diameter was under the normal of .277".     i have Rem' Core Lokts that show a proper .277 and just over.    i don't see any blem's on the Noslers and wonder if their Real defect might be their diameters.   i have not sent any down-range, so can't speak to their accuracy.   but it does make me wonder a little bit.

that's all i can say about them, however.

I've shot a bunch of the NSs, they shoot excellent.  There have been several threads on them at AR, a multitude of shooters love them, both for their accuracy and terminal performance. I don't have a micrometer that will measure them accurately enough I guess, but my digital caliber measures to .0005", I didn't detect any more differences in them than any other premium bullets that I've compared them to, I have one bag of .277" Accubond seconds and a box of .277" partition firsts, they both measure .2765". One thing that I did notice was they aren't perfectly round, if you measure them at different points, the diameter varies .0005", but doesn't seem to affect how well then shoot.....for hunting accuracy any way. ;)

Made me wonder about diameter for the 30cal 150gr.Since it is cold out and nothing to do I measured diameter and weight on 100 of the 2nds and a box of 50 new ones.Glad to report diameter is same on all.Only thing I could find different was in the range of weight.New box was 149.6 to 150.2grs and the 2nds were 149.4 to 150.4,that was for the accubonds I didn't check the partitions. So I'm happy with them and they sure do shoot, always right at half inch and worked great on deer last fall.

Tim,

yours measure roughly what mine did.   maybe they obturate a little since the pressure on the back of a Partition could, in theory, push the lead that is exposed to obturate the jacket to a proper diameter.   i'm happy to hear your testimony that their hunting accuracy is good.    that's enough for me.

thanks,
