I have one and love it.  I put it on my 30-06 Handi.  Works great and is fast to mount and get off a shot.  Ordered the stock and forearm from the manufactor and refinished it myself.   Wenig Custom Gun Stocks Inc.

Can't you get a similar item from Gunstocks, Inc.?????

I thought I remember seeing  something similar there.

GSI has a similar product, but it's a lot different, shown in walnut, but avaiilable in lam.

To me, that stock just does not look right.  Looks like Shaq might be able to reach the trigger, but not most average sized people.

I agree with josh ... Wenig's laminate choices are really good. I like the black/yellow and the desert color thumbholes.

I love that new stock i saw it the other day at the same site or at least the same picture. $160.00 does seem steep though. So you can order from NEF huh?
Check this out. :o

I personally dont like the gap between the stock and the trigger guard on the Gun Stocks Inc version.  I'd like a nice walnut thumbhole buttstock from Wenig, but with a Gun Stocks Inc's target forearm.   :o

Finally got an email reply from Wenig, here it is:

"Matt,

We have a NEF Handi-Rifle SB2 right hand thumbhole pattern.  For a machine inletted "do-it-yourself" thumbhole style stock and forend in laminated birch is $260.00 and standard grade walnut the buttstock is $190.00 and if you need a matching forend in walnut it is $40.00.  This may also require a special drawbolt which could run $45.00.  Shipping/handling charges are additional.

Thank you, "

"This may also require a special drawbolt which could run $45.00."

If this "drawbolt" they are speaking of is the stockbolt, and there is nothing more it could be, a  4" x 3/8 x 24 grade 5 bolt at the hardware store costs between $.95 and $1.68, depending on your part of the coutry and the store. A superior grade 8, not needed but nice, is about $1.00 more. These are what come with a standard H&R stock, a 5" bolt comes with the Survivor stock. If you needed a 3", 2 1/2" or even  2" you can buy one at the hardware store for about a buck ($1.00) os less. What the heck is this $45.00 dollar overcharge for a "special drawbolt" other than plain thievery!!!. I am shocked that a company with an otherwise fairly good reputation would even try to pull this. Cap head or socket head threaded fasteners are just about the same price and just as easily obtainable at the corner hardware store. I think the stock is high priced and the price for the "drawbolt" is outright obscene and robbery. I would shy away from it just on general principles after seeing them try to charge $45.00 for a $1.00 bolt!!!..<><.... >:(

So, Tim, any report on this rifle?  I was surprised to find one (in .223) on the rack at my local gun emporium.  It feels nice ;D but they are proud of it to the tune of $369 :o. Not surprising, though, they also want $189 for a .22 mag Ultra.

Not yet, Thursday, I can say without a doubt, RR is the slowest to ship a rifle I've ever experienced. They sat on the order almost a week before they shipped it, I called and asked why they charged my cc on Friday, but didn't ship until the following Thursday, they said there was a lot of paper work involved in selling and shipping a rifle!!! ::) I guess Whittakers and The Gunsource don't know that, they shipped rifles the same day I ordered them!!

Tim

EDIT: Got it!!
