That is the same path I'm going to take, with the side knob for elevation tension. The Merit peep works real well when hunting in diminishing light. I nearly missed a good deer when I first started hunting with a peep, I couldn't get a clear sight picture through a smaller sized fixed aperture. The sight worked well at the range in mid-day, but came up short in the wooded draw in the evening. Luckily, the deer turned on the path and walked right up on me as I was trying to get a bead on him. I basically stove piped him at 10 yards, Stevie Wonder could have taken that deer. Study up on the Merit model you want and keep your eye open at gun shows and shops, you will eventually run across one at a fair price. The #4 target models don't open as wide. (.022" to .125") But sometimes come with a black rubber eye cup.
