rechambering the .357 Mag barrels.....

what have you reamed yours to? I did "Maximum" on one I had years ago and sold it before I did much with it. Now I have another {Limited Laminated} .357 mag. So far 38 Spl wadcutters and round noses are fun. Shot a few .357 Mag Jacketed rounds and those really do elevate the firing excitment.
I've wondered how many have thought or done:
.35 Rem
.356 Win
.358 Win
.35 Whelen
.35 Whelen Ackley Improved
.350 Rem mag??

Fun to think about, but I think mine may stay what it is. The .38 Spl loads are like shooting "CB Caps". Fun little rifle.
Oh,,anyone try the Speer Shot Capsules? Do the blue shot capsules break up or fly like a slug?

I have one that is now a Max and was just advised yesterday that the work to my second .357 barrel has been completed, it is now a .35 Remington, I finally have one!!! For a fun round in the .357 Mag Handirifle to be used on squirrels and rabbits and such try loading some mid range .38 Special HBWC (hollow base wadcutters) with the bullet reversed so the hollowbase now becomes a big hollow point. We used to shoot these out of revolvers at vermin (rats) at the dump many years ago and it was blast!!!....<><....

I've had .357Max Handi that's been rechambered to .35 Remington for a while now, hunted deer with it last year, it shoots the 200gr BTB cast MOA at 2140fps with a good dose of Varget. Thought about having the Max chambered to 35 Whelen, but I bought a nice  35 Whelen RMEF Ultra from Wally, so that never happened, the Whelen will do anything the .350 Rem Mag will do with less pressure, so that's a big plus in my book.

I agree with Tim, I already have a 26" .35 Whelen barrel for my H&R/NEF's so I never considered rechambering a .357 to a Whelen but the Whelen is a GREAT cartridge....<><....
