Gents: Here's the overview:
* ... I made the rifle from the parts listed in the 1st post ... total cost $389
* ... It has been to the range for testing twice. First was for chronograph and fine tuning the sights after laser bore alignment. Second was for groups determination at 25yds and 50yds.
The rifle will be primarily used as a Schuezten Gallery Rifle - 25yds at a 25 ring target. This is why the palm rest was added.
* ... At 25yds from bench rest - 20 shots blew out the bullseye. At 50yds - 2 1/2" group.
* ... Recipe is CCI SR primers - 5gr Unique - Meister 85gr LRNFP bullets that went over the chronograph at 1170 fps with a SD of 7. I believe that I can tighten up the 50yd groups with adjustment to the powder charge and Alox'ing the bullets

It was a fun project and saved my piggy bank a ton of money instead of having to buy an original in the $x,xxx dollar range
A word of caution ... these shotguns have a psi range of 11 - 13,000. NEVER configure a new fangled rifle with a caliber PSI rating greater than the shotgun

Eskimo: The liner has 3 bushings silver soldered on it and then epoxied into the barrel using the 4 minute epoxy.
The bushings are at the:
... chamber end (1/16)
... middle of the barrel (20/1000)
... and at the muzzle (10/1000)

I have a Remington 22 with a shroud over the barrel to appear as a heavy barrel with a similar bushing in the front between the barrel and the shroud. All epoxied together. Great work you did. Keep up the good work and thanks for the pics. They make the story worth telling....

Rusty - Yes. At a club in south Jersey. We hold 25yd offhand (40 rounds) matches using the 25 ring ASSRA targets (same as I posted). The matches are every Sunday, January through March. We have 8 shooting positions indoors (with heaters

That's really something! I used to shoot BP cartridge silhouette when I had better eyes. Would love to have had that rifle back then.

I didn't realize the .25-35 was that low of a pressure round. It's essentially a .30-30 Winchester necked down to .257"... I would think the pressures it made would be closer to 20,000 CUP...

I think he said he used a 25/35 liner for a 25-20 chamber.

Oops missed that. Yes a shotgun frame would be more than strong enough for a .25-20. I've been thinking of getting something in that caliber for a long time but it'll have to be next year. I think I've maxed out my new rifle budget for the year...

gcrank, I am not the greatest off hand shooter. But the rifle from bench rest will put 5 holes MOA @ 50yds. At 100yds I'm averaging 1.5 to 2". Reason? That's with my 25yd gallery load of either Unique or Trail Boss. Am sure, the groups with the proper powder charge @ 100 would be possible bragging ones

Geezer - yes the 25-35 is TJ's Enterprise liner only that I used - then chambered for 25-20. Been dragging my feet because I want to replace the wood with the checkered walnut on the Buffalo Classic. If there are any take offs floating around - send me a PM
