Took the 218 out again today to try getting it ready for Hooker . ??? Was shooting prone off my rest & sandbags @ 200 yards

35gr V-max 11gr H4198 - under 3"

35gr V-max 11.5gr H4198 - under 3"

35gr V-max 12gr H4198 - under 2 1/2"

35gr V-max 12.5gr H4198 - under 2 1/2"

35gr V-max 11.5gr H110 -- Ugly

40gr V-max 11gr H110  --- Ugly

50gr Sreer Spitzer 10gr H4198 - over 3"

50gr Speer HPs 11gr H4198 - over 3"

50gr Speer HPs 11.5gr H4198 - over 3 1/2"

53gr Sierra HPs 11.5gr H4198 - under 3"

53gr Sierra HPs 12gr H4198  - under 3"

It still needs work but i did learn something today , the fact that fat guys should not shoot from prone , stick to the bench and it likes the 35gr V-max best .  ;)

Also took the 243 Superlite along with some Speer 100gr that were shooting between 3" and 4" @ 200 .

I can relate to the prone.Rocking back and forth on the over hang doesn't make for a solid hold.Also can't be a pretty site from behind.Dave

Nice range work Stimpy!!  That's a bunch of prone shootin, the last time I tried that, I really didn't enjoy the getting up and laying down part, I spose it would be ok if I could just take a nap tween groups!! ;D

The worst part was switching back and forth between the 218 and the 243 , with both being lite barrels they tended to heat up laying out in the sun . i would fire 5 with the 243 and then 10 with the 218 , walk down and change the target , walk back and start over .

I did a bedding job on the Bee to take the pressure of the front of the forarm but can't see were it helps any so i may peel it out and stay with just a stock forarm , the only thing i had to bed with was blue RTV , ought to come out real easy .

Also have some 65gr V-max coming for the 243 , we will see what it does with them .

I guess I need to learn to read.  At first I thought those were pretty crappy groups, till I read the "200yd" part.  Looks like you're on the right path.

When i compare these groups to the ones that i get from my 223 BB and my 22-250 they are crappy . thats why i say it needs more work .  :o
