The thumbhole 12ga Ultra slug is now available at RR, hopefully the 20ga isn't far behind it! ;)

I would love to have one in the 20ga. Let's hope it will happen!

Their current policy is the t-hole laminates aren't going to be available for retail sales, but that could always change.... eventually. :-\

Will the Ultra slug frames take centerfire barrels.

Where does the mounting bolt go, I am having a hard time visualizing it.

No, the 12ga USH frame is a 10ga frame, made for a larger diameter barrel, 1.2XX", while the SB2 rifle barrels are 1.1XX" in diameter.

I suspect it would use the same mounting as my thumbhole Ultra 243.

That makes sense, wonder how comfortable a heavy hitter would be on the hand. I'd be tempted to make some sort of plug for that hole

You mean the recess for the stock bolt? Why, you can't see it and it doesn't interfere with shooting it, I never noticed it when shooting. The fluted Ultra Varmint stock has a bolt head sticking out like a sore thumbhole!!! :o ;D

No I was not talking about looks, assembly has it's price. It just looks to me that the bolt hole could be uncomfortable in a heavy recoiling gun it also seem possible for it to pick up a twig or something and drive it into the web of your had. But again that is just how it looks to me, reality could be very different. As for plastic stocks I expect them to be butt ugly for me the best that could be said about a plastic stock's look is that "it's not but ugly". a hansom stock will be sporting wood of some sort, either solid or plywood OK laminate :). And actually I do like the looks of that slug gun's stock.

It is on my wish list, but I am going to have to pass for a month or two.
