Got it, looks good except for one little spot where the finish is worn on the edge of the chamber end of the barrel, it wasn't packaged very well, the bare barrel was just stuck in 3 styrofoam donuts in cardboard box, , it was noticably loose in the box before I opened it.
Cleaned it up and mounted it in my frame, fits just like the 7mm-08 barrel with a very slight gap at the bottom of the barrel between chamber face and standing breech. Took measurements for COL using the 150gr Nosler Partition Moly, touches the lands at 3.413", Nosler's recommended COL is 3.340", so I can load long and still touch the lands with the lightest bullet I'd shoot in it.
Headspace appears to be within tolerance at .003" below the barrel face, not ideal, but with the .001"to .002" barrel to frame gap, still less than the SAAMI max of .006". I think I'll form a false shoulder on them to eliminate all headspace on the first firing so the brass will last bit longer, and it sure doesn't hurt accuracy.
Now to round up a scope rail for it, should have ordered one earlier this week, but forgot about it, Sportsmans Warehouse may have them.
More later,
Tim
