hubbards replacement rod
« on: November 17, 2007, 10:45:20 AM »
took my sidekick to the range today. Of course I forgot my range rod. After shooting 3 times, I went to load for the fourth time and after starting the bullet and sabot, I extended the Hubbard's rod and it would not stay extended and would continue to collapse.  I threaded it out to tighten it and it entirely unthreaded and came into 2 pieces. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I plan to call Mr. Hubbard Monday  to see what can be done about it.  Not complaining about Hubbard's was just wondering  if anyone else had this problem and how they fixed it.

I sent Mr Hubbard an email. He replied and said to return it to him and he will either fix it or replace it and will reimburse me for shipping. Cant do business any better than that for sure. Gonna go back to the range later today with a range rod and finish sighting the gun in.

I am aware this is starting to sound like a free advertisement for Hubbard's, but I just got an email from MR. Hubbard. He wanted my address and is sending me out a new rod tomorrow so i will not be without. Cant beat that customer service.

I got my replacement rod today from MR. Hubbard. I just sent the other one back on Monday. I also received a check for 5.00 for postage for returning the broken one. A great company to deal with.

Just a heads up.  I put through a ON-LINE order a few weeks ago.
The transaction appeared to go through on my end but a week or so went by and no ramrod.
I finally emailed Hubbards to follow up on the order.
I received a prompt reply indicating the on-line ordering system was not working.
Mr. Hubbard took my info and mailed one out the next day.
Great product.  Great personal service.

Maybe the on-line ordering problem has been fixed but you may want to verify that first if you choose to go that route.

Does anyone know how to make contact with Hubbards?  The links quoted throughout this thread don't work and haven't for some time.

Thanks, Bob

Mr Hubbard is somewhat of a rarity these days.  He is honest and very easy to work with.  He sent me a chamber insert , no money involved, and told me to try it.  If I didnt like it , return it.  Who does business like that now days?  Anyway, he is the kind of a guy I like to do business with.

just as an FYI, I spoke with Mr. Hubbard on Tuesday night. Anyway he will be away for a few days as his botiher is quite ill and he was going to visit. He will ship my new rod when he returns, and I will let you guys know when that is.

Another compliment on Mr. Hubbards way of doing business. I ordered a new ramrod from him early last week. Came in the mail today, and it shows good workmanship. Also included a note reminding me not to use the ramrod in the extended position to start a projectile. Keep closed as a short starter (if you aren't already using a short started), then extend to fully seat. Took a check to the PO at once and am very pleased with the product.

I received my ram rod from Mr. Hubbard earlier this week.  He sent it out without payment and said to return it if I didn't want it and he would reimburse the shipping cost.  Of course, I am keeping it, it is very nice.  Great service and I appreciate the trust.  Thanks Ben!

Last Friday I ordered a new rod from Mr. Hubbard as I sold my other one to a friend to get his sidekick goinig.  It came with the bill attached to it as usual today.  There was also a nice note stating that if I sent anyone his way for products to have them mention my name so they would get invoice billing.  Otherwise  he is going to have to start collecting his money before shipping out his products. It appears he has not been paid by a few individuals.  He finished the note by stawating "of course this does not apply to you and to others who have paid me promptly."  It is sad that people do this to such a great businessman.

Bubba,

That is sad to hear! Ben is such a great trusting guy to do business the way he does. They sure don't make 'em like him anymore.

Dave at No Excuses Bullets is the same way, place your order, he promptly sends the invoice with the bullets, you send him back a check. It just don't get any easier than that.

It is a damn shame for someone to take advantage of that trust. I sure hope it isn't anyone from here that stiffed him. If it is, do the right thing and pay the man, even if it is late.

That is all I have to say about that.

I emailed him to ask if it was anyone asociated with the forum and he responded saying he would prefer not to say.  I mailed him a check today for the new rod I got along with a note that said if any of my friends want a rod, I will give them the address to send the check to and he can send it when the money arrives.
