Does anyone know if you can get one of those very nice thumbhole stocks in any other caliber say 7mm08?

It looks like the 38-55 and the Target Model are gone but lots of new stuff.  I also noticed the 357 and 44mag combos are on SB1 frames....no additional centerfire barrels can be fitted.

That's too bad, hopefully the 38-55 accessory barrel will still be available.

See the footnote on the 357 and 44mags:

* PLEASE NOTE: The 44 Mag and 357 Mag. cannot be fit to any additional centerfire rifle barrels. They are capable of being fit with accessory shotgun barrels,
but they are only operational with the 44 Mag or 357 Mag rifle barrel that is shipped with the gun.

Im with you here, it looks sweet, but Im afraid to look up what it costs.  Ive seen several ultra varmint thumbhole guns go for $399.  Im thinking this new stainless 45-70 is going to be the best $200 gun that $500 can buy.

I think offering the .357 & .44 Mags with the shotgun only frame is dumb. And offering scope mounts only vs. iron sights on these short range cartridges is double dumb. Guess I better be on the phone Monday morning to my gun dealer contacts to try to find me a leftover .44 Mag with a NX serial number!

I guess the days of $109 Handis are forever lost in the annuls of inflationary greed-fueled history.
On a positive note, I'd really like to have a set of those stocks off that new trap shotgun!

Those deer hunters in Indiana don't necessarily need em when a scope will work just fine, and that's H&R's target, sights cost an additional $50 to put on a gun, a scope rail $20, do the math. ;)

Is that an all new synthetic?
How am I just now hearing about this?
Will the fore arm be stiffer (shoot better)?
Can I get one from parts yet?

Can you get other barrels for the 45-70? Mags?

Dunno yet, pretty sure on the 45-70, but not on the mags, no one has one yet, they won't be available for probably a few months, the mag barrels aren't on the accessory list either.......yet. ???

Hi,  My name is Frank, and I'm a Handi-holic.

I thought I had this obsession beat, but after looking at the 2008 catalog, I have a problem! After 4 rifles, 8 extra barrels, and a shotgun, I thought I had it licked. WRONG!! Someone help me. I'm afraid I'm a lost cause.

24" SS 45-70..........Got to have one!
30" Trap TDC..........Got to have one!
thumb-hole stocks
BC 45-70, got one coming.
etc.
etc.
plus I do not yet own a 30-30!...........Got to have one!
AND I want to build a 32 H&R mag............wonder why they don't build this caliber?

What do I do now?

Frank
