here is my status
WAYNE - 34 , MALE - UPSTATE NY - HUNT DEER - HIGH ETHICS AND MORALS


had neck injury and surgery and am able to do minimal hunting because of chronic pain from the neck.
I love to shoot, just can't do it as often as i like. Was able to hunt more this past season,Because of stronger determination and better medications. (when i get home)


HERE IS WHAT I REALLY WANTED TO TALK ABOUT.LOL

MY GUN :
30/30 SINGLE SHOT HANDI-RIFLE ---
MOUNTED WITH A BARSKA 3X9X40MM SCOPE WITH THE 30+30 RECTICAL ---
ON #82 WEAVER BASE ---
SIMMONS MEDIUM RINGS ---

JUST NEED THE HAMMER EXTENSION...

I got it shortly after CHRISTmas and just got out to shoot it today it was bore sited at the store and it shot 2 shots at 50 Yds and 1 at 75Yds  all within 1 inch. can't wait till warmer weather and i get to really site it in..

Hunter smurf, Ive got chronic pain in the neck as well. Ive learned to let her shop as much as she wants to & I get to hunt as much as I want to. :D :D    Kurt L where at in mid mich. Im in Flushing.

Welcome aboard buddy, glad to have you here with us. You have chosen wisely, a 30-30 Handi is something you can do everything with. Hang around a little and we will get you to buy a Lee Loader for a 30-30 for about $15 and then the fun really begins, You can make that thing shoot like a .22 or like a .308, and all inexpensively too....<><....:)

welcome to the club. my pain in the neck hunts too. (helps save on arguments when i say im going hunting or shooting.)

Where are you located in NY?
I am also in upstate. I live about 30 minutes outside of Albany.
A little town called Hoosick Falls.

It seems we have alot in common.
Same age, state, both own a 30-30 Handi etc.

Now you need a 45-70!!
I just got one a little while back and can't seem to put it down!!
Great fun and easy to reload for. (same can be said for the 30-30)

Let me know where you are located and maybe we can do some shooting.

Hi Wayne,

You and I have a couple of things in common. I'm also 34 and have chronic neck pain.
Because of that I opted for the .357 Handi (basically no recoil) for deer hunting.
I think you made the right choice with the 30-30 which also has nice light recoil and
is mighty accurate out of a Handi.

I just got a handi 30 30 also. Haven't had any real range time with it yet, Its cool here in Louisiana but not to bad.  Its been raining lately enough to keep me away from the range.
You will find a whole bunch of good knowledge here, and every body has been more than friendly and eager to share their knowledge.
Great Place and I think you picked a great rifle and caliber
