"IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT YA MARLIN XLR NO MATTER THE CAL ASK IT IN HERE AND IM SURE SOMEONE IN HERE WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU OUT."

hi i live in Australia and i asked in another section about whats the best scope for the Marlin 336XLR 30-30 and the 1895XLR 45-70  and i got a few good response's. such as Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 & simmons 4x or 2 x diamond any others ?
+ does anyone have any reloading data they can send me for the 30-30 or the 45-70. i know about what factory loads to use ill only use Hornady LEVERevolution factory loads as there made for our rifles the XLR series.

I wouldn't waste my money on anything other than a Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5X32 or a Bushnell 3200 Elite 2-7X32.  They sell them on eBay pretty cheap.

The web page you put in your post says that shipment of weapon sights outside the country without the  proper paperwork is a violation of the law, so my guess is that you will have trouble with other US companies as well.  I am no lawyer and am not giving legal advice, just reading what is on opticsworld's site.

Try this on the optics forum.  They will know over there.

You should be able to find just what you need in an enlightened country like Australia.  Then our stupid laws won't be an issue for you.

I expect that in this case free trade is trumped by the fact we do have a war going on, and don't have an interest in arming the enemy.  The scope company has no way of telling where it is going unless you have done the appropriate paper work and they have a copy.

So sorry you are disappointed.

My .45-70 is topped with a Leupold VX-II 2-7x and the .30-30 is topped with a Leupold Vari-X II 2-7x.

Wouldn't change them.  The eye relief on the VXII is 4.9" at 2x, pretty comforting when running heavy loads.

On my 336, I use a Leupold shotgun scope 2-7x33 with a heavy duplex reticule and on my 1895G I  use a Leupold 2.5 scout set-up with a Ghost ring.

I have several Leupolds myself.  I wish they were 1/2 as bright as my Bushnells.

I have the 336 in 30-30  and the XLR in 45-70 and I use 3X-9X Bushy 3200's. They are more money than the Banners and the Trophy's but I think they are worth it. They are B&L design and optics so they are very bright.

Before buying a Burris check out the weight compared to the Bushy 3200. Burris scopes are usually big and heavy.

I've got the Burris Fullfield II with Ballistic Plex.  Great scope.  I love it.  The only problem is it's stuck on my Brno 30-06 bolt.  My 336 wears factory iron.

I use Garretts ammo in my 1895G when I grizzly hunt and have also shot Buffalo Bore. If I'm not mistaken, Buffalo Bore states on the box, any Marlin firearm newer than 1974, this ammo can be used. Garrett has an e-mail address, mail him, he will answer you.

Bullits are Remington 45-70 Brass, Remington 9 1/2 Large Primers, Remington 405gr JSP, 40gr Reloader 7 powder.

Well we went out today and shot some of these WESTCASTINGS PREMIUM GRADE PROJECTILES
GOLD MATCH 500grain RNFP 45-70 GOVT out of My Marlin 1895XLR S/S 24" Ballard Barrel 45-70 3shot group at 100 YARDS and mate it grouped great..

this rifle is sighted in for the Remington JSP 405gr from the pictures in the previous post so we never touched the scope at all we only wanted to see how these new bullets grouped out  of this marlin. and here is the full spec of what we used.

GOLD MATCH 500grain RNFP .459 Dia 45-70 GOVT
Remington Brass
Remington 9 1/2 Large Primers
33Grains of Reloader 7
3 SHot Group at 100Yards
i even added a little USA one Dime next to the group..
Felt recoil was no more then the Remington 405gr JSP bullets with 40grains of reloader 7

for rifles of the power and trajectory of lever rifles I prefer lower power variables. My first pick would be the Burris Euro Diamond 1.6-6x40.  6X is plenty powerful and 1.5X lets you get a nice wide field of view and if you shoot with both eyes open you get the Binden Aiming Concept that Trijicon talks so much about. It is NOT a function of THEIR scopes but rather of human eyes.
