Smoke & Flames
« on: June 04, 2008, 12:53:39 PM »
Well, here are a few photos from the Hernando Sportsman's Club cannon shoot. All-in-all everyone seemed to have a Great time. We had over 10 cannons show up.

I must give thanks to Bob H. for his awesome video which these photos came from.

Here are a couple of cannons that Dom built. I really enjoyed seeing Dom's French 75 recoil mechanism in action. I even had a chance to fire it.   ;D

Below is a link for a short video. You gotta love that Bronze ring....

intoodeep,     Thanks for posting these pictures;  if Mike and I ever drag the Parrott or the 7" Brooke to a shoot, it will be to one like this.  We really love the variety of sizes and types present at this shoot.  WE TOO love the recoil and return to battery of DOM'S French 75!!

Regards,

Mike and Tracy
Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!
