Got my new barrel I bought from ONE HOLE 45-70 today in the mail.
It is a rechamber of an older 22 JET.
I already had one but it doesn't fit any of my frames.
The very first frame I tried it on it fit like it was on there all along.
It came with a SIMMONS 6x20x44 target that was not mounted but I am sure it came off this barrel.
After putting the scope back on I just had to try it out.
It was pretty cloudy her in upper VIRGINIA and the wind kicked up quit a bit, not a day for target shooting, but like a kid with a new toy I had to go out and play.
Using factory Win 55gr soft points and shooting off a bench without any rests the first two shots darn near cut holes at 50.
To windy & cloudy but I just had to get out the bags and see.
The first three cut each other out in a vertical string.
Then the fourth I pulled low about an inch.
A small scope adjustment to the left and the fifth shows a small move that way back up with the rest.
Good enough, now to 100.
By now the wind was gusting around 15 mph and it was starting to get dark.
My 100 ytd target is in the edge of the woods kind of north west of my shooting bench.
Great for day shooting but not in the evening because of the sun and the shadows.
I gave it a try anyway.
Not bad, about a solid inch for four shots.
I admit that I am not the shot I use to be, from a bench anyway.
It just don't fit me the way it did when I first built it 35 years ago when I was 15.
Wonder why?
It was to dark by the time I finished for any 100 yd pics but I did get one of the 50 while it was still light.

I believe with a little BLC 2 and some work it just might be a shooter.
The bottom hole is the one I pulled.
