leverloution hornady's for reloading!
« on: December 17, 2008, 04:05:23 PM »
Don't know if this was discussed yet, but I see hornadys offering up their flex tip pistol bullets for reloding very soon.  Im wondering if anyone has experience with the 45's in factory ammo. I'm wondering about accuracy and how they open up at lower velocities? hornady told me to load them like xtp's. Thoughts?

That would be interesting if that it true.  There were several threads here discussing the issue of if Hornady would introduce the bullets to reloaders.  A lot of strong opinions about that subject as I recall.  Would be interesting to pull up that thread and look at it again...  I don't have any experience in 45's, but in the old 30-30 it did wonder's in accuracy and distance!

They're offering ALL of the FTX bullets as components, both pistol and rifle, Midsouth has them listed, but none in stock last I looked, they're supposed to be a 2009 offering. I've shot the 44mag LE ammo in my Handi, it shoots good, can't say the same for the 200gr 460S&W LE ammo in my H&R BC Carbine tho, velocity is over 2850fps, but accuracy just wasn't there, I'm looking forward to handloading the FTXs.

Wish they would have come out earlier, a couple hundred reloads would have been a great Christmas gift for my Brother's.
