Marlin XS7

Marlin has brought out the XL7 in short rounds, the XS7, available in 243, 7-08, and 308. I see a 7-08 added to my 270 XL7 if the price stays the same. Very accurate rifles........

For the life of me I can not see Remington buying Marlin to offer a Marlin bolt rifle, or shotgun.  The 336 I can see and handguns maybe and .22 lr maybe.  Remington already has the 700 ADL.BDL and CDLs plus tactical stuff, long range stuff, African stuff, black rifle stuff and varmint stuff.  They also have the entry level Mauser style rifles which come with a scope.  A Marlin bolt is going to be a stepchild, I'm afraid.  They should be reducing their models and cartridge offerings such as the SAUM.  With a semi auto and a pump rifle, do they need the levers too or will the lever just divid the same pie into more pieces?

I have seen and held one of the wood stock XL7 in 30/06,very nice rifle and would like to have one in 7mm08 if i can find the funds.
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.
