REDFIELD SCOPE REPAIR
« on: June 26, 2009, 03:47:32 PM »
Guys, I just found the front/exit glass on a old time favorite fixed 2.75 Redfield scope has broken. Looks like I mounted the front ring too close to the end of the scope. This scope was my grand fathers, then was my fathers and now is mine. Its not worth a whole lot for what it is, but I do not want to loose it or the ability to use it.
Where can I send it for RELIABLE repair..  I wont say money is not an object, but because of the substantial sentimental value here, I think you understand that I want it fixed and fixed correctly.

Thanks in advance,

CW

I've heard of this place on another outdoor forum:

Does Leupold have anything to offer in the way of repair since they now own the Redfield name?

Bill, I didn't hear this!!!  My "favoritest" scope company owns Redfield??  There is light at the end of the tunnel!!!

It's mostly sentamental. I mean its a nice enough scope, with a post crosshair and all. I do very much like the reticule and overall scopes dimentions. Mostly because it has "history".  I'll shoot some E Mails Leupolds way and find out!!

Thanks guys!!

I seem to recall your Leupold praises  ;D

Accurate Shooter had an article on the purchase by Leupold:

EDIT: Found this bit of info that states Leupold didn't take on the warranty/repairs when they acquired Redfield. :-[  The two repair facilities mentioned in this thread are also in the information:

Ironsight, is the outfit. They quoted me an overhaul price of around 80 bucks for RF straight 6x a few months ago. They price according to power.
