She does it again.
« on: October 26, 2009, 03:50:22 PM »
Last year I took my girlfriend Kim on here first big game hunt for deer. She got lucky again this year and drew a tag for the same area again. Last year she took this buck on opening morning with my 357 max.

She told me this year she wanted more knockdown power so the deer will not run off. She knows about shot placement, but she just wanted more power. ::) I decided that my 95 RMEF 280 was the best choice. We found this buck about 1\4 mile in this burn area just feeding along. The shot was about 115 yards. She hit high on the front shoulder. The bullet went thru his back bone and stoped above the shoulder on the off side dropping him in his tracks. He is no monster, but she was very happy to say the least. ;) :D ;D

Here is the bullet its a 140g Rem core lockt from a factory load. It weighed 100.3g.

She sure does look happy. Congrats. Nice deer and I love the gun in the first pic. I think she's ready for a 45-70. ;D

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Good news!  Wish I could see the pictures but the filters here at my office block them...  :(  Maybe when I get home.  But congrats to both of you anyway!  Keep her interested!   ;)

Kim is definitely a keeper!
