I got bored and painted my 93 Mauser in the 6.5x55 Swede.
« on: January 08, 2010, 03:40:25 PM »
I have not worked much the last couple weeks and have gone stir crazy. I decided to paint my 93 Spanish Mauser in the 6.5x55 Swede. The reason I did was the plastic was pretty rough and the blue on the gun was wore pretty good. The barrel had a couple nicks that I also managed to sand out of it. So what do you think? Here are some before and after pictures. Dale

It may be I am having such a hard time uploading the new pictures is because I took the pictures with a new camera. I am going to try to upload another before picture here now and see if it goes through. Dale

I have no idea why but it looks like I can't upload pictures from the new camera here. I will have to take some more pics with the old one and try to repost. Dale

Looks a lot better "after!" ;D

The action isn't marked like most 93's and the 6.5 swede is an unusual caliber for that model action.   :-\   Do ya know any background on the rifle?   ???

Interesting stuff , no?   ;D ;D

Looks really nice Dale. I thounk you will be surprised by how it shoots. Do you have any ammo and have you tried cycling it through the gun. To me it's odd that a 93 is in 6.5X55. I have one that is, but I rebarreled with an Adams & Bennet barrel.

Oh. We concluded it was a 93 Spanish Mauser in the 6.5x55 that was made in 1923. Dale

OK now  I remember Dale. THe square bottomed bolt identifies this as a 93 spanish action.
