I had gotten some new power tools for Christmas and had some free time to day to do some work on my Survivor. For those that have one of these stocks on their gun you know the comb is really low. I had tried to raise by attaching foam in layers to get a usable height but I never did like how it looked.
I had seen lots of strap on pads and the Choate pads but felt I need some thing a bit higher. So I cut one my self
. I used my angle grinder to cut some scrap 1/8" steel that I had around to shape and the mounted it to the stock. I played with the height until I was comfortable. It really changes the whole feel of the gun making it much more comfortable.
Yes I know it is pink. Next project is to repaint.
One thing I noticed is I originally had bolts that went all the way threw the stock. When I tightened them up I was really squeezing the hollow stock so I switched to shorter bolts and the nuts are now inside the stock.
