GMX field report part 2
« on: June 25, 2011, 11:32:12 PM »
When out for a hunt yesterday - it was cold and windy (23.9 degrees F) I started early with impala and springbuck
on the menu. After a couple of hours walking and a couple of stalks on springbuck I finaly had my change.
The ewe was standing about 200 yards away - facing me at a slight angle. Up with the sticks. Put the cross on the junction
of the neck and body. I can't remeber pulling the trigger. Next moment the rest ran away and the one
I aimed at was gone.

Next up was the impala - once again it took a couple of hours and couple of stalks before I could get a clear shot. Once again it was a side on shot. I shot the ram on the joint on the front of the shoulder. The bullet exit before the right back leg. I took
out the hart and the liver. He dashed for about 60 yards and fell in a dust cloud.

On the springbuck - no meat damage, on the impala the bone from the joint stuffed the meat up a bit but I can live with this.
On both animals the lungs and the harts were shot to pieces - I am happy with what I shaw and think this is my bullet for all my future hunts. Stong, accurate and with more than enough killing power without too much meat damage.
(Hornady should sponser me after this report!!  ;D)
