H&R/NEF Calendar photo submitting ( ENDS ON DEC 4th ) CLOSED!
« on: November 22, 2011, 01:25:52 PM »
Photo submitting will end on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4th at MIDNIGHT EASTERN TIME !!!
Photo submitting is now closed!!!
NO MORE!

Get those photos posted so they can be voted on.

OK guys, we have the go ahead from Graybeard to do a calendar for the 2012 year feathering nothing but our members H&R/NEF long guns.
This can be either a rifle or shotgun, new or used, factory or one you have put together.
It is to be of the guns only.
Sorry, no dead animals or people.
We want this to be strictly about our members guns!!!
These will be in full color also.
The calendar will be 8.5" x 11" with a cover and a back on white paper with a black spiral binding so it will fold compleately over and still lay flat.
We need 12 photos when done but will need severial more to choose from.
This will be done by a member vote with the top 12 getting the nod.

The photos need to be as clear as possible and be in either JPEG or TIFF file format ONLY.
The size really doesn't matter as the printer can size them as needed.
Under each photo you submit please give a breif, one line description of the gun along with your GBO screen name.
The maximum number of letters & spaces CAN NOT EXCEED 84 TOTAL using a #12 font.

We are working on a very limited time frame here so this offer won't last long.
I would say maybe a week at the most so get those photos posted!

I hope to have more details shortly.
These will be offered for sale in another thread with a portion going to GBO to help keep the site we love so much up & running.
We MUST sell at least 100 or more of these to hit our target price of $12.00 or $13.00 each shipped.

Help out the site, get one for yourself or give a nice CHRISTMAS gift to someone and enjoy some of our own members guns all year long.

Let's get started!!!

Remember,
The maximum number of letters & spaces CAN NOT EXCEED 84 TOTAL using a #12 font.
I know it's hard to do, but it can and MUST be done.

Here is a link to the other topic if you want to read all about it so far.
Hope it works.

Hope everyone are not looking for just the pretties !

Mine is an ugly parts bucket creation back in the seventy's. It has been banned from many a Turkey shoot do to its exceptionally tight pattern.

I will edit this post to add the picture ASAP.

Remember, The maximum number of letters & spaces CAN NOT EXCEED 84 TOTAL using a #12 font.
Dinny, your switch barrel is over 130 some.  ;D Shorten it up some.

otterbob, yours is 92.
Try leaving out the periods and commas and the plus mark and see what you come up with.

Oops, fixing it now!

Tip: I cut and pasted my words into the 2007 version of Microsoft Word. Under the REVIEW tab, WORD COUNT can be selected, it will list all the words, characters (with and without spaces), etc. Just be sure to change the font size when you paste it back onto GBO. ;) Hope this helps others!

Very tastefully done.
Now come up with something to describe them with your screen name.
I just might have to re-take mine in a little better setting.  ;)

Here is my oldest H&R. Its a 12Ga take down. Its been around the country twice! Traveling in a closet of a motor-home! Its been in my family for as long as I know.
When I got it , it would not fire and had the end of its long barrel badly rusted and pitted. I fixed that with a hack saw and a file. Then a drill press and a bead to finish it off.

Now it shoots very well, is super handi to carry and bring along. As you can see its a short trip package that's easily packable.

How about going back into the "show me some Handi's" thread in the FAQ's as there are a lot of candidates there also from years past.

It ought to be fun looking at the finalist list when it comes time to pick a top 12.

Kind of like our own beauty contest, and I'm getting all goose bumped thinking about it! :-[
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

Try to look unimportant.   Your enemy might be low on ammo.
