Some see the feral goats as a problem and they are destructive in their eating habits in the bush, so I like to hunt them to keep the nos down in these areas, but would be sad to see them all gone as the hunt is fun and they are good to eat, the dogs are Jasper the Spaniel (mine) and Ruby the Chesapeake (my mates), hunting with the dogs is really is an important component to our enjoyment of the hunt and usually a help in winding the animals before we see them, have on a couple of occasions sucessfully required their noses in tracking a wounded animal.
regards Howard.

Yeah, nice dogs, gun, report, and hunt!  Is the fur on them goats soft enough to make a pelt worth keeping or selling?  Man I wish we had goats here to hunt.  What part of NZ are you hunting in?

The pelts of the kids and nannys make great floormats, car seat covers etc, the billys are to stinky to use so that I don't bother with, not worth anything to sell, I live in Dunedin, Otago in the South Island,
Regards Howard.
