Forend Screws

Does anyone know the dimension/description of the screws used by TC to attach the walnut forearm (large channel) to a factory contour barrel.  I stupidly lost the screws and hate the idea of paying $7.00 in shipping for $1.00 worth of parts.  I thought I might be able to find them locally if I knew the dimensions.

I am sure someone here can help with that, but I have never had to pay anything for small parts from TC.  Give them a call and they will tell you if it will cost you something or not.

I just bought some off a guy on Ebay for $3.99 + $1.95 shipping. Google TC Encore forend screws and he will pull up.

I ordered a doz. 1" -8x40 from Brownells.  I use them for custom forearms & can cut them off to fit.  They have allen heads.

James, what is Brownell's part number for those? Perfect for hangar bar usage as well.

Here is the link to a 1" long version that I have had for a while.  Look at the listing, and you will find the refill pack 8-40 ones (080-000-837).   Not sure where what the part # for the hex head version is.  I also included a link to some 3/4 versions as well.   

8-40 x 1.0 screws at Brownells

Could someone please verify the size, I just checked mine and they are 10-32 it appears.

I got some allens from the hardware store, but the head was too big around, so you can chuck them in a lathe (or drill press) and hold a file and reduce the diameter-if you don't know what I'm describing, don't try it, also use information at your own risk.  Use touch up blue if black, polish if stainless.

Do the 8-40 screws work in the Contender forend as well? Just finishing up a Gunstocks Inc. forend for a tapered Fox Ridge .204 Ruger barrel and need longer screws to float it.

My earlier post referred to 10-32 screws, I should have stated that's for a Contender, The Encore I don't know.

ordered some from a a guy on e-bay Got 3 screws very cheap. He had to order a large amount of these for his Encore(bulk order I guess.) I had his e=bay list  or search E - bay listings for Encore Screws   Rick

 I wish that you could buy encore screws at the hardware store, but I have only been able to find them on e-bay or if you want a dozen at brownells. dave

There are no hardware stores here that carry 8-40 screws, 8-32 are common tho, but they won't work for an Encore.
