Was out shooting the Hornet today when... "click". Cocked and tried again. "Click". So I waited a minute and opened her up. No firing pin strike. Transfer bar comes up, but doesn't stay up when the trigger is pulled.
I went and shot the breeze with another shooter for a bit (since I didn't have anything else to shoot), and headed home. This is the first time I ever remember going to a range with only one gun. No kidding.
Anyway, got home and pulled the lifter out, and for a couple minutes, didn't realize what was missing. Wait, where's the little thing that the other thing pushes on when you pull the trigger?
Well, it was gone. Stuck down in the buttstock cavity.
I've seen a number of posts about the pin coming out of the striker.
So I'm wondering, when someone says their transfer bar broke,
is this what they usually see? Is this why Quick carries an extra?
Ordered one of these from Numrich, by the way. If they have them in stock, I'll be back out with this little rifle soon.
This is an old rifle, for what it's worth. It's been shot
a lot, so, no fault with the gun.
