h&r will not open

My son wanted to try to shoot a slug through his topper custom deluxe today and i let him now his barrel will not open all the time .My question is what could it be and does anyone have any info on how to take the action apart on this gun

I think I'd contact H&R and have them fix it if you're not the DIY type, but if you want to fix it yourself, Perklo's trigger hone link in the FAQs and Help sticky will show how to removed the trigger group, it may be something simple like a broken firing pin too.

thanks for the info i tryed the sight but for some reson i can not load it could some one try to send it to me by e-mail at tracy.crider@earthlink.net it is probley my slow dial up doing it
