Double set trigger
« on: December 18, 2009, 11:58:10 AM »
In one of the posts this week, someone mentioned a Handi with a double set trigger.

It's snowing today so I decided to look. Just looking at it, with the Gold hammer, you could change the sear to a bar and mount a ML double set trigger under it. Looks like you'd have to change the trigger guard.

I wonder if it's worth the trouble/

If you proceed with this please take step by step pics and post them.

I will but to be honest, it would be one of those wild hair days and I have a lot of other half finished stuff to do. I have a 4 bore that all I have to do is tap two more screw holes and I've been putting that off for a year.

Peter, with 4 bore recoil, I'd put it off for a lot more than a year :o :o :o

I'm going to dig this one up out of pure curiosity.

Did you ever play around with making a hammer/trigger combo? It would be fun to do if I knew it was possible (although probably very difficult for an SB2 frame)

Ive shot a number of single trigger guns that work just fine, and I have dbl. lever/dbl. sets and a sgl. set on others. There isnt anything wrong with single triggers, set up correctly, but the transfer bar 'complications' seem to detract from one being really good. I believe more than one here has retrofitted the old style, non T-Bar works with success, but just try to find any now.
