MAG-Spark
« on: July 27, 2012, 09:46:57 AM »
Has anyone here used the Warren Mag Spark shotgun ignition on their TRADITIONAL Sidehammer Percussion ML? Looking for some feedback to see if they even work? This converts your #11cap nipple to a 209 primer.....

It isn't traditional when it uses modern primers which can't be discussed in the traditional forum, read the sticky in the traditional forum, that's why it was moved here.

i say it will work but that second shot will be slow.personally i cant see the advance to it. black powder is easy to lite. even if you do convert it if your powder gets wet it will miss fire

they work great but i would shy away from the 6-1mm  mag spark adapter commonly used on Spanish made guns. I bought one and it ripped apart after the 7th shot due to the company that made them, adding another thread and weakening it greatly. The other sizes look to be fine however.

what powder were you using?

Cabelas sells a spitfire nipple with a hollow base, that sucker is a winner for helping with hang fires!
