Picked up a NIB Mossberg 88 12ga. Awhile back....Got around to shootin It Saturday....

Smooth Bore, Rifle Sights...OOBuck, Shot About 16in. Left of the POA at 25yds....

Punkin Ball Loads Shot to POA at 25....But I have NEVER been Punched in the Face By a Gun So Hard.....

They make a good serviceable shotgun
despite all the naysayers.
Every shotgun I ever had needed to be
patterned to find the optimum load and
choke and a good bit of ammo burned up.
Even the brownings and the benelli I have.

When we didn’t have much choice for deer I’d use my mossberg 500 with 3” slugs and dreaded shooting it off the bench every year prior to deer season.

Loaded up some Lee 7/8oz Slugs for the 88 Saturday.....

10 rds  9 went into 3in at 50yds....With much more Manageable Recoil.....

I may like this Gun afterall....... 8)

There's not much that won't fall to a 12 gauge.

My very first shotgun was a Mossberg 20 gauge bolt action with changeable choke tubes.
I killed many geese, ducks,quail, pheasants and rabbits with that thing.
