My wife's mother is in the ER with a possible stroke and we would deeply appreciate all prayers on her behalf. She is in her eighties and had an operation earlier this week to get ready for kidney dialysis. She has a blood clot in her arm from the surgery and best guess is that part of it broke off and caused a stroke.

We sure appreciate everyone's prayers, her mother is doing marginally better and getting some feeling back in her face this evening and we are waiting on the results of an MRI, the CAT scan yesterday night didn't show anything.

The MRI didn't show any sign of a stroke and the Doc thinks it was a TIA. She's doing better and will probably be sent home tomorrow or the next day.

Transient Ischemic Attack, same as a stroke but doesn’t cause any damage. Usually caused by a blood clot in an artery going to the brain and if you’ve had one it increases your risk for a future stroke. Short answer.
