My Best Friend died last night in Hospice put there by a stroke. Gerald was my host, my hunting mentor, a "family member" - as a brother! and the State of South Carolina Regional Wildlife Biologist for the Western Piedmont the last 20 years. He was comfortable when he passed.
His family and I knew it was coming, but the finality of it is difficult to bear. His wife, Jackie, jhad jaw surgery yesterday, which is wired shut. She too needs continual care presently, Is on strong pain medication, is in shock, and needs our prayers.
