With this hot weather, has anyone made a substitute for Gatorade?
I could use a recipe-with proportions.I know NaCl,plus some baking soda and a little sugar in a quart of water will help.I really need the exact proportions of each.
Even spraying fruit/crops in level C p.p.e. is a trial in hot weather.
Collasping from dehydration, heat exhaustion,or heat stroke is not amusing.
Thanks.

I'll see if I can get the exact "formula" I remember an instructor of mine a couple of years ago had it and shared it with us in class. If I can't get ahold of him, I'll check with some friends who work in the Sports Medicine Group of a local hospital. They're responsible for about forty or fifty different teams. I'm sure they'll have it or be able to look it up for me.
Frog :D

Here's a generally accepted electrolyte replacement formula:
one-half teaspoon table salt
one-half teaspoon potassium chloride (lite salt)
one-half teaspoon baking soda
4 tablespoons sugar
dissolved in 1 liter (a little over a quart) of water

I buy powdered Gatorade at Sam's Club in BIG cans, it is pretty cheap, but this recipe is even cheaper.
