Title: H&R 32 Gauge Special
Post by: RonO777 on January 07, 2009, 03:44:36 PM
I saw one of these at a pawn shop the other day. It turns out its a 32 gauge "Special Tranquilizer Gun".
I thought it was neat. It had a bit of surface rust. I had never seen or heard of one. That's what I like about pawn shops not the prices just the weird stuff.

That's still sold by Cap-chur as the Extra Long Range Projector.

They show uo from time to time on Gunbroker also. Don't think you can shoot anything but the darts out of them though. Kurt

I wonder if one could get the tranquilizing darts.
Lots of possibilities...   pesky neighbors, irate customers, kids that won't behave, my wife after I mention the purchase of another handi barrel.
I could see life getting a lot less stressful if i had one of these  :P

They sell all the stuff you need, except the drugs.

It might be great as a home defense weapon.  You could have an intruder all trussed up by the time the police arrived without blowing holes in your home and furnishings!  Just a joke.

It sure would round out a collection.

I wonder how much they wanted for it?

I have a couple of neighbors that I really enjoy.  I wouldn't be cruel enough to shoot a neighbor with one, but I do see skunks in the area once in a while.  Wonder of these neighbors want a new pet tied up in their back yard??   :-\

Rusty you would need to also find one of the "line guns" in 45/70 to really round out the collection they were all nickle plated and fired a projectile attached to a line that was shot I think over the bow of another ship or some thing and then they would attach a rope to it and pull back onboard...at least that is how I think they worked .I am not a mariner but I did stay in a Holiday Inn once. I it was $96. They also had a 410 there for I think $70.
