I've made up a dozen or so custom H&R barrels by "stubbing" or putting a rifle barrel into a cut off shotgun barrel. This is the first Rossi I have tried it on. I bought a new 22/410 Youth combo rifle, bored out the .410 barrel and put in a turned down Savage .223 barrel, I will spare the details, you can find how to on the H&R board. It was a pain to do, the youth rifle is small, so it is hard to work with, there is no place to buy ejectors or other after market parts as there is with H&R, so I had to make one up to fit the Rossi Hornet barrel. It did finally work out however, it is an attempt to make up the lightest Coyote rifle I can make. Total cost is about $125.00, the rifle was $97.00 and the barrel was under $25.00. Just a fun project, I don't think I would do another, but it was interesting. It weighs 3.8 pounds as you see it, so scoped it will be less than 5 pounds with a sling, with the .22 lr barrel it is a tiny bit more. Larry

That's awesome! How does it shoot?

Other than shooting it to see if it would blow up, (it didn't) I haven't shot it at a target. I will post some pictures when I finally shoot it properly. Larry

Please do post targets.

Looks good to me and a light little shooter too.
Larry, any reason why you didn't just rechamber the 22 barrel that came with it?
Let us know how it shoots.

22 Hornet is centerfire... the firing pin wouldn't hit the primer. The 22 barrels are offset like the versa barrels.
