Title: EABCO quality? & Canjar single-set trigger a good idea?

Does anyone have experience with EABCO's services? I am looking to have a Ruger #1 worked on some, and their website looks intriguing. Any experience with this company would help.

Also, for the same Ruger #1, I am considering installing the Canjar single-set trigger. Is this a quality product? Would you reccommend the Moyers or Kepplinger over it?

I personally have had nothing but excellent service from them.  I haven't heard about canjar's being available for #1's for sometime. But I know there were a number asking for them. So it's possible they did a run.
I've heard reports saying the moyer is a good trigger. I was planning on one, but hadn't as of yet.  For a varmint/target rifle, the kepplinger is excellent. I think I would stay with the moyer on a big game rifle.

I would suggest you check with  SSK Industries an advertiser here on GBO. They do a LOT of Ruger #1 work and that's where I'd want it done if I were having the work done. Click on the SSK banner at the top of the Forums Index Page or here

 My gunsmith was floating my #1 forearm on my 2506. We got to talking about triggers. He handed me his #1 in 270 winchester from his safe. He had a canjar on it. He claimed to have known the old man personaly, I don't know the truth to that , but there was no denying that trigger. I pushed the trigger forward and that little button popped up. I thought about touching it and it went click. I had cheched the action and asked if I could try it first. They are awesome and I believe they are in the 250 range when u can find them. Moyers has been getting high marks at a good price.

I bought a new #1 in 280 Rem as I love all my older Rugers.. when it arrived I was very disappointed in the trigger..at that time the only after market I could find was the Moyers..bought it and had it installed..he adjusted it with a pull of 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 pounds and I love it... it kept me from selling the gun..to bad what the pro lawsuit crowd has done to the gun makers!!!..anyway just my thoughts..never tried either of the others...the Canjar sounds nice and may have choosen that one but not sure for the difference in price...just my thoughts....WW1

It took 4 months to get a set of dies from SSK. They are sloooow. I have an EABCO BF pistol it is excellent. I have ordered another. They are slow too.

What's your BF chambered in?  What'll the new one be?  I have one in 219DW that I dearly love.  I had a BF rifle too, but a freind of mine wanted it, so I traded it off.  Anyway, I'd like to buy another one (rifle model).

My BF is in 219 DW also. It is very accurate. I have ordered another BF in caliber 22 Hornet. I will shoot pistol silhouette with it. I'm thinking about getting one as a rifle also. I can't decide what caliber.

The set triggers will add to your lock-time.  If you need to have ultra-light trigger pulls with the #1/#3 action you're going to pay for it.  I've shot with many folks who bought a Kepp and after they installed it, never actually used it as a set-trigger.  This is in the Schuetzen game, where offhand is half of your events.

I've been to EABCO twice in the past few years.  I've got one in 32-40Win, and one in .22 rimfire.  The .22 was with my wood, and is a real stunner in the French Grey finish and brass transition.  I managed to talk Eben into making a BR forearm for me with an accessory rail installed so I could mount up my palmrest.  Service is always top-notch.  Yes, the work is slow, but he is true to his word.  If he says it is going to be 7 months, you'll have it in 7 months...

I ordered Moyer's Trigger and Mould's Speed Hammer and Hicks Accurizer to tune barrel harmonics for best accuracy, from EABCO and a Limbsaver recoil pad locally.  Didn't want to turn loose or ship my Ruger #1S
45-70, so am having my local gunsmith do the custom work.  Assuming I like the results, I plan to do a #1A .243 Win. the exact same way.  <BTW> EABCO told me that unless I was familiar with and specifically wanted a set trigger I'd be better off with the Moyer trigger FWIW.
