Think I'll stick with my Marlin Papoose.  ;)  I designed a modern bullpup muzzle loader with a laminated aluminum stock, but never ended up building it.  Aluminum is nice and light, but durability is less in my opinion than steel for a take down system and primarily for a barrel.  I really prefer a solid steel barrel rather than sleeved aluminum for such a firearm.

I think I have to agree with Tackleberry, even though I didn't open that link (I think I have already familiarized myself with the "Pack Rifle!").

I also like the Marlin Papoose too.

However for the role of that 'pack rifle' why also consider using a T/C Hot Shot youth rifle with stock extensions?  If not a Chipmunk Cricket rifle?

My other pack rifle is a Marlin little buckaroo Bolt action with a home made folding stock.  It's exactly 26.25" long folded and can be fired using the buttstock as a foregrip in this position.  With it unfolded, it is a full length stock and is comfortable for my 6' 240# frame.  I made a peep sight set for 25 yards range and can shoot it like a pistol when need be.  I'd think you might be able to do the same thing with a cricket to make it more packable too.  ;)

I was more into taking handguns to hunt with when I packed in from mid 60's.   But over the years when I did want a rifle instead... for rimfire pack "carbines" I always took one of my Winchester 1890's or 1906's, or one of my Browning SAR's.   For centerfire carbines mostly a Contender with a match the task cartridge or two in short barrels or if I wanted a 410 shotgun along, a custom Remy 600 Vent Rib Bullpup 308 sometimes that was a dream to shoot in the thick stuff, or one of my Remy XP-100 or Wichita specialty pistols that would shoot as far more accurately than rifles.
I also had a back pack that had provisions for a full sized rifle, shotgun or bow to take whatever I wanted.  But it was more cumbersome than my most used packs, so I didn't use it as much.
