When did they make T/C Renegades with recoil pads? I got a good deal on one today with a 50 caliber Green Mountain roundball barrel that looks unfired. The stock has very nice grain.
-
The original run of Renegade 'hunters' ended about 1990. They had the steel but plates. A few years later T/C brought back the 'Hunter' and these have the pad.

Mine has a very nice piece of walnut on it.
-
didn't the 58cal "big boar" also have a recoil pad? some of those had extra nice wood.

I have Renegade flintlock that I bought new from Fox ridge Outfitters T/C Custom Shop, at least ten years ago. It is not the "Hunter" model with a single trigger. It has a set trigger. It came with a rubber recoil pad.

Don't know when it was made but I sure find it comfortable. I hid mine with a bit of leather to make it less offensive at rendezvous.

Rifles from the custom shop could be equipped many different ways. They would also use 'select' wood that usually beautiful but not gawdy. I think the wood in general improved after the fire.
