I've been using mostly CCI primers and Winchester for over 35 years.
My problem is that I have a Colt new service that was once used as a target gun.(Bull Barrel adj sights, target trigger and hammer.
)
It was also converted to singleaction.
And I am pretty sure that the main spring has been lightened.
I put it back to double action,,, but it doesn't have enough power to set off the primers reliability in doubleaction.
I tried an after market main spring but the quality was sub par.
I was wondering if there are any makes of primers that are easier to set off with a light hammer strike.

Assuming we're talking small standard pistol primers, try a 100 of the Federal Small pistol primers. They have the thinnest cup.
FWIW, you can shim the after market hammer spring on that gun. Might try that first.

Larrys got it. Fed primers are hands down the easiest to light off. There all ill use in my comp guns and home defernse guns where reliability cant be questioned.

Thanks guys .
You saved me a lot of time and $$$$ trying to find that info out on my own.
