Just learned today, there was an AD at the OGCA show in March at the Roberts Center in Wilmington, Ohio. 2 people hurt, neither one fatal but 1 shot thru the thigh. As usual, guy picked up a gun off a table, .308, and pulled the trigger. Dealer put a tie on the gun, but had one in the chamber. Have done over 1700 gun shows since late 1985, and seen this happen a few times before. Usually it's a dealer at fault, forgets to check a gun. Customers coming in the door, have their guns inspected and tied by security, which at most shows is a couple members of a local PD. So, if your at a show, double check a gun when you pick it up, and point it at the ceiling or out a window if your checking to see if it's loaded. If it is, call security, get the gun out of the building, kick the dealers A** when they remove him. Let my membership lapse at OGCA last year, time to retire. Sad to see this organization go thru this, but I smell one big lawsuit coming down the road.

Yes dealer at fault, but anyone that handles guns. The first thing that should be done is check the chamber and or magazine for any ammo. Then yes if you want to pull the trigger it should be pointed in a safe direction. The first thing when picking up a firearm should not be pulling the trigger. Awful stupid to do that.
