That scandium frame does NOTHING for me but that blued steel item looks like it'd be a top notch self-defense firearm. I'd be pretty doggoned impressed if faced with either gun but I'm one who likes enough heft to handle the recoil. I just don't get this business of ultra-light guns.

I really like my 329PD, is it a bear with heavy loads, you bet but it is a dream to carry. I've got a 5" classic that shoots the heavy stuff just fine but you know it is on your belt. I use a 44 mag case loaded to 44 special velocities and the 329PD is a real pleasure to shoot with these loads. I use the light load for most of my shooting but when I go to the hills the Federal 180s go in. This pistol is a simple delight to carry. Does it take awhile to master? Absolutely and I don't let novice shooters shoot it, it is not for the amateur but they do have their place. Jerry J

Well I agree that the lightweight guns in magnum do not do it for me either.
But that blued mountain gun is nice. I did not see the lock/zit on side...is this wishful thinking or will I be able to buy a factory new Smith?

I'm trying right now to get a price from my dealer on one. If at all possible I'll have one in my safe, by the middle of next month. I was thinking about that Scandium thing, too light I would think? My 657 Hunter is too heavy to pack around all day.. I just keep dreaming.......

The two MG offerings are not supose to be on the shelf for another two months. I'm waiting... I missed the boat on the 629 MG so I wont miss it this time. One of those pretty blue 41's will go with it too..... anxiously waiting.
Be Safe,
Scott

I'm with Dusty, for the most part? Wish Smith would start making N frames with the square butt again? Everyone I've had, I end up putting the conversion grips on to change the feel to the square butt feel.
