New stock

   I just got a Buffalo Classic in 45-70. Actually it's one I sold a couple of years back and I was wanting another shooter, and this was available again.
     Anyway, I was looking to make it into an offhand rifle so I need completely different style buttstock than what is generally available. Gunstocks Inc. makes the perfect style, except it's only available in right hand version and I need a left hand one. Anyone know where else or who else may make one?

First the good news , welcome aboard , now the bad news , you have 3 ops at this point . H&R standard stock sets , of which they have several , the Gun stocks inc. RH or you can make your own . No one that i know of makes a left handed stock for the H&R .

H&R have 4 or 5 styles of stocks , from the high monti-carlo to the straight shotgun , in pallet wood , lams and syn.

All of the factory sets can be used for RH or LH shooters . I know this does not help much but atleast you no were you stand .

One stock that you might consider if you don't care for conventional stocks is the Varmint stock, it's kind of a love it or hate it type stock, but many do like it, some like Poncaguy love it enough to have more than one! Choate Machine makes all the syn stocks for H&R, you can see them at their web site, but you may be able to get the Varmint for less direct from H&R, so it's worth checking, their toll free number is in the FAQ and Help sticky. The Varmint stock is ambidextrous, is LOP adjustable and has optional cheek pieces for higher scopes.

Thanks for your replies guys. In my internet searches I haven't found anyone who makes a lefthanded stock either. The Choates are good stocks but the group I shoot with doesn't allow syn stocks
So I'm down to 3 options. Buy an Ultra lam, carve my own, or but a 2 walnut stocks and build a cheekpiece out of one and fit it to the other.

 What is THAT all about???  Synthetic NO ALLOWED?

I concede a certain affinity for a nice piece of Walnut. But the MANY attributes of synthetic stocks FAR outweigh the negatives like looks!!!!

It has to do with shooting traditional style single shot rifles, with traditional wood stocks and sights and thats all.
