hi, im new to this forum so sorry if there is any stupid questions! first off i would like to know who knows the best ways for accurising a 17 hmr handi, any info would be appreciated, how much does floating the barrell with cardboard or a washer improve the accuracy? thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum! See the FAQ and Help sticky in the NEF/H&R Centerfire forum, most everything that applies to a Handi/Ultra, applies to the Sportsters. Using a spacer of some sort to semi-float the barrel may or may not help accuracy, it's best to just shoot it and then see.  BTW, the rimfire NEFs are Sportsters, not Handis. ;)

My recommendation, shoot it.  It seems the more I shoot mine the better it gets.
