Williamlayton:

Where do you live? Under the Gulf of Mexico? If you look outside your window right now, is there a fish swimming by? 6 inches of rain is about equivalent to 60 inches of snow.

We have been getting a slow rain here in AR. for 2 days straight. About the 1st of Oct. we received storms that ranged from 8-13
inches in 24 hours, depending on where you were standing, scary stuff!!

Well Bill we're supposed to have been getting rained on for the last 36 hours and at least the next 12 to 18. So far not one single drop has fallen here. Some body don't want me to get my pond filled I'm thinking. So send that rain on my way I need it or my pond does.

Well now, as I trudged out to check the rain guage this AM, it was raining. Maybe 2 inches over night----let's see 6+2=8  Hummmm,  double check 2+6=8,,,xxxxx@@@@@@
Yup 8 inches.
That is 20 inches as best as I can figger it since last week bout this time.
Time for a spell of drying out I would think.
Could be worse, the woodpeckers coulda got loose in the ark.
There is going to be bass and perch at the jetties in Galveston pretty soon.

Dang Bill, iffen I'd had that 20" my pond might be full now. We did start getting rain some time over the night and it is still raining now. It looks like on the radar it might keep it up most of the day. Dunno how much has fallen as I've not checked the gage and won't until it's over. They are saying the whole state should get at least a couple inches and some of us might get as much as 3" to 4".

If I had a vote I'd vote for me to get 4" of it. Right now the neighbor's pastures are beginning to have standing water in them. If it would come a real heavy shower for awhile that would move it all into my pond.

4.75" in my area since 10-16. But we are still under the average annual amount of precipitation.
If at first you don't succeed, by all means try again. But if this doesn't work, give up, because there is no sense in making a darn fool of yourself.
