Just wanted to ask Moose53 if he had found any info. on his whitworth project? My son is thinking about starting one; we have the hex. bore figured , now we need to plan the rest of the gun.

I have everything but a good photo of the iron carrage I want.Between the Artilleryman and Antique Ordnance Publishers the barrel is dimensioned very well.How are you going to rifle a 8 foot tube?I can send you the information I have ,I will pm you with my address.

 Well I think I'm going to try a 1/2 " thick  hot wrap around a 2-3/4 solid round keep it tight do it 6 times weld it up with 7018 rod and then turn it to oh 3-1/2  O.D.  then press  it down a seamless tube. With a good press and weld to keep it in there it should work and be safe.

 I recieved your email ,about the Ordance Publishers No.23 Planes and the Whitworth 12 pdr drawing by William Fetterly .Fettery's drawings I've not heard of . what do they concsist of.The mail service here sucks, my aop plans got ruined on the way here, just my luck.

The 12 Pdr Whitworth Breech drawings are in the Artilleryman- Vol.16,No.4- Fall1995- page 5.If you can`t find that issue,I can send you the drawings

And I thought making a staved and banded bombard would be a task!
