With the conversion cylinder can you use light loads of smokless powder. NOT TO EXCEED black powder pressures? Or do you still have to use black? Thanks in advance fellas.....Steve.

Smokeless loads such as sold by Ten-X, Winchester, etc, labeled "Cowboy" loads are safe.  Do not reload from the loading manual charts marked for Rugers.  The factory lead bullet loads are designed to be safe in 100 year old smokeless Colts, and are safe in the conversions because the cylinder is 4140 or 4150 steel.  Do NOT use a conversion in a brass framed gun.
