Springfield GI model - inauthenticity alert
« on: November 20, 2006, 04:48:08 AM »
Springfield claims that the GI 1911 is a faithful copy of the WWII 1911. I disagree. The trigger on the Springfield has an excellent crisp pull. I don't believe the WWII models did.

Tried one out at the gun shop yesterday and was really  impressed by the trigger pull. The trigger itself is much shorter than I'm used to. It's not bad, it's just different. I'd probably replace it with a longer trigger if I got one.

Safety first
