failure to chamber
« on: December 22, 2006, 11:50:40 AM »
I have a Glock 36 with a KKM barrell installed for shooting cast lead.My problem is this...when the slide closes on my reloads,it stops just shy of the gun being in battery.I can give it a slight bump on the rear of the slide and it will move maybe a 32nd of an inch and lock up.My GLOCK barrell doesn't do this,my Kimber doesn't do this, and the KKM doesn't do this with factory ammo.I've tried seating the bullet where the crimp is almost even with the shoulder on the semi-wadcutter,but this doesn't seem to have helped. Please help!

You may need a little more crimp or due to a tighter chamber have to use a Lee Factory crimp die or the Redding Profile crimp die.  I think Dillon may make something similar.

Sgtt is correct. The Lee Factory Crimp Die will fix your problem,------------or, if you can remove the decapping punch from a full length sizing die and post size your loaded rounds. Either one will solve your problem.
