SC predator hunting
« on: December 27, 2006, 03:05:14 AM »
All,

Merry Christmas.  I am fairly new to South Carolina and am interested in doing some predator/varmint hunting.  Can any of you advise me to locations in the upstate for, say, coyote hunting?  Public land / WMA?  Any advise that you can give will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I would like to welcome you to GBO and the Predator/Varmint hunting site. I am not familiar with the hunting situation in your area but i would bet there will be some one that is and would answer your questions gladly. There are some very helpful people that hang out here, Good luck and have a good day.........Joe.........

Howdoo Ronnie ,

Do a google search for -delorme maps- and check w/ your local dept. of wildlife round up some maps. The delorme will show public land that is pretty up to date once you find some close enough put your feet in the dirt there.
There are alot of black coyotes killed up in your neck of the woods -considered a real trophy -best of luck -Mike

Ronnie
Welcome to Graybeard Outdoors!
I am pretty far to the west of you to do any good but ol mike's advice sure does sound good.
I do like the Delorme software.
Best thing about the coyotes is that you probably wont have to go too far. Use stealth & have patience and above all have fun.

Thanks fellas!  I am searching DeLorme as I type this.  What about varmints?  Up north we used to groundhog hunt in the off season - it was a lot of fun.  What kind of varmint hunting is done is SC?  Thanks again for the replies.
