.22LR conversions for Glocks - anyone tried one?
« on: October 19, 2006, 12:32:21 PM »
Just curious if anyone had tried one of these units.

I think I'd like it better on a 1911 frame, but I bet the light weight of one of these on a Glock frame could be apealling for some conditions.

BTW, if this has been done recently - point me towards it.  Don't want to waste your time.

EDIT --- Jeez - you guys are too good!!  I just found a string about this on page 2.
Sorry to bother you - you can go back to sleep now.

I have one for my Glock 22. It shoots groups about 2". It isn't real accurate.

I tried a Ciener converson upper on a Glock 19. It shot pretty good, but function was unreliable due to the binding of the slide on the rails.

I bought a Glock Model 22 about 2 years ago. I twas used and cost me about 350.00. I couldn't pass it up. About a month after i bought it I got one of the Advantage Arms Kits and I love it.

It's not as accurate as my Ruger Mk II but it is a lot of fun to shoot.

It allows me to stay familair with the Glock Platform without having to Hand Load a freight train full of Ammo.

The Paperwork that came with it said to use the Remington Golden Bullet and to stay away form the federal Classic, but I found that the opposite was true with mine.

LIke ATCDoktor, I have the Advantage Arms conversion for my G21.  Its fantastic.  It shoots more accurate than I can as long as you use standard high velocity ammo.  Cheap Wally World Federal floor sweepings or target velocity stuff won't move the slide reliably.  That is not a design flaw its how it was manufactured.  I can liive with that little requirement.

I have the Advantage Arms conversion for my G23 and G32.  It is as accurate as the 40, but not as reliable.  It demands frequent cleaning and the proper ammo as recommended by Advantage Arms. The slide appears to be slightly wider than the G23 and G32 slides and is to tight to fit in my duty holster.  I still like it alot.  It has helped me to masrer the glock trigger.

Here is a picture of my G20 with an Advantage Arms LE 22lr conversion kit.

Here is a link to my son shooting the G20 with the 22lr conversion kit.

I have an advantage arms for my g17 and love it.  My Dad liked mine so much that he bought one as well.  When you do purchase one make sure you get plenty of clips.  Reloading a .22 clip is really annoying when you are plinking!  Load a bunch up and bang away!!  I looked at all of them but this one has the same glock factory white dot front sight and white outline adjustable rear sight.  It also looks the closest to the original glock slide. You can't go wrong with this set up.

Good Luck,

Bob
